It's been a few years since my last review of this place and I am happy to say that this restaurant is still delicious. It's all the little details that make it so great.

I had the club wrap and a side salad. Very reasonable price but I was amazed at the freshness and quality of ingredients. The side salad was made with fresh mixed greens instead of just iceberg lettuce like other places. It included diced cucumbers, tomatoes and dried cranberries. The club wrap had large thing slices of turkey that tasted way better than the simple slices of deli meat you get at other places. The tortilla was soft and fresh and the bacon was crispy. The lettuce inside had a crisp fresh crunch and the tomatoes were perfectly ripened

I can't recommend this place enough and will be eating here more often while staying here

Good service and good food for the price. The portion was decent too. The salad was basic, and very hard to mess up on anyway. The mac and cheese could've used a bit more chicken, cheese, and seasoning. However, the garlic loaf was why I gave it a 4 star. It was my favorite thing here.

Came up for an overnighter for a family "obligation" which would explain WHY we are in this part of town; not your typical Vancouver area hot spot.
Got up on Sunday morning and was Jonesing for a "traditional" (verge of ethnocentrism) eggs and bacon breakfast/brunch....well good luck with that.
So we finally decided to settle on Rick's and am now glad we did.
After calling prior to arrival to scope out the menu, upon arrival I found out they push their buffet items.... Big mistake.
I asked the guy on the phone if they had omlets and he actually said "no" but they have scrambled options. Well... Oops, they have several omlets and other fare we were desiring.
Super friendly and attentive staff.... PLUS I got my veggie and meat stuffed omlet. Straight off the non buffet menu.

Came in and waited a good 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the door.
As in my other reviews, we have a toddler so we need a highchair.
We were offered the table right next to the front door but we declined because of door drafts, and because we just generally don't love to sit in the direct line of sight of people waiting to be seated.
So she offers to clean off a different table. Haha...okay, yes please, do your job only if we want you to?

She seats us with menus and a colouring book - no crayons.
She brings us our waters and only one of the requested coffees.
Our waiter comes and takes our order. Husband asks for his coffee and some crayons.

Coffee comes....mug is smeared with old lipstick. See picture. Freaking disgusting. I stop drinking mine because their coffee is actually really, really gross anyway on top of that disgusting atrocity of a mug.

Crayons come and we didn't think anything of it until we notice our toddler sorting the crumbled bits of crayon from the garbage and stray crayon wrappers. The bottom of the crayon cup is full of salt? Sugar? Not sure. Also gross. Why aren't those cleaned and replaced? There wasn't a single whole crayon.

At this point my husband would just like a new coffee, our daughters straw fell on the floor, but no one is walking by, coming near, or making eye contact.

After 15 or so minutes I go up to the bar and get our kid a new straw myself.
My husband gave up on the coffee and no longer wants a new one as there isn't enough time anymore to even get his money's worth on a refill.

Server even comes to drop off condiments but says nothing and quickly walks away.

Food comes. Husband addresses the lipstick coffee and that he wants both the coffees removed from the bill. Server apologizes and removes the mug.

First impressions of the food: small portions for the price.

Husband describes his "brekkie bowl" as sub-par. Weird taste to it.

I got the farmers sausage skillet, which comes on a tiny frying pan. I was overwhelmed by the metallic smell from the actual skillet..so I slid my meal onto the plate below it and, after the smell cleared I did enjoy mine. This is the ONLY reason for the 2 stars instead of 1.

Server comes while both of our mouths are full to ask how things are. We do the nod and chew thing but I do wish he came back while we could talk.

We finish, we wait and wait some more, child is getting crazy from sitting so we get our coats on to just pay at the front.
Server hurries over and asks if he should print the cheque. Ya dude, clearly.

My coffee was still on the bill. Husband was not impressed.

Overall experience was not good. Bare minimum service. We will not be back.

I ordered eggs Benedict to go and it tastes like someone literally pooed on the English muffin and put tasteless hollandaise on it to cover it up. I had two bites and threw it out. I've ate eggs Benedict from many places as it is my favourite breakfast and this has to be the worst I've had !
